Here at Frene Creek Farm, we do our own processing.  All of the fibers on this page have been put thru a wool picker. 

We add to the website often, so check back! 

Here at Frene Creek Farm, we do our own washing and dyeing of our fibers. We also process our own rovings.

1st Adult Mohair

This fiber came from one of my young adult wethers. I did not mark on the bag at shearing as to which one it was, but it is defiantly one of my boys! This is still soft and very silky feeling! 

This was dyed with some Kool Aid the kids would not drink so I call it Kool Aid twisters.

Lincoln Fiber

This fiber came from a friend's ewe. I dyed with: blue spruce, slate blue, cornflower and blue bonnet.

 Scottish Blackface Fiber 

1) Dyed this using: blue bonnet, teal, mountain aqua and slate blue.

Montadale Fiber

This fiber was purchased from another flock owner. Montadale is similar to Columbia! 

Romney Cross Fiber 

This fiber was purchased from another flock owner. I have no idea what the cross is, but the fiber is courser like a jacob. 

 

I washed and dyed it using: rust, china jade, lilac and teal.

This is natural brown - ranges from light tan to dark brown. This fiber still has some vm to remove. This has been put thru a wool picker to open the locks.
